Alves reveals his role in Neymar`s transfer

CAIRO – 22 October 2017: The Brazilian Neymar Jr. starred in the summer transfers after leaving FC Barcelona and signing for Paris Saint Germain in the most expensive deal in football history.

Barcelona`s fans suffered a great disappointment with the player. Months later, another ex-Barca player, Dani Alves, revealed, in an interview with Le Parisien, his role in the decision of the striker to leave the Catalonian club.

Alves said, "I already knew that Neymar wanted other things and that he had decided to leave the club.”

In fact, it was in the beginning of June, during a rally with the Brazilian national team, that Neymar told him that he had decided to change his plans, even before Alves himself left Juventus for PSG.

"We are passionate about the challenges and the novelty. I told Neymar that he was free to do it, to leave, but he began to doubt when he returned to Barcelona," he says.
Neymar returned in mid-July to rejoin Barcelona, and Alves thought that Neymar had changed his mind.

"At the time, I thought we could not play together on a team that was not Barcelona. But in the end, it worked. He came here, and I'm very happy," concluded the Brazilian defender.
